At Excel Tax & Accounting we truly care about your Tax Return and we make sure that every box has been ticked and every possible deduction thought through before we are happy.
The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has introduced new standards that tax practitioners must adhere to, called the Tax Agents Services Act (TASA). These requirements have been introduced to ensure that you are aware of your rights as a client, to improve consistency in the profession and increase responsibility.
Some of the changes included in TASA that may affect you, are as follows:
Engagement Letters
In future clients of Excel Tax and Accounting may be provided with an Engagement letter. This will outline our responsibilities, your responsibilities, overview of fees & ownership of documentation. This letter will need to be signed in order to give us authority to act as tax agent on your behalf.
Identification
Appropriate identification such as a drivers licence or passport will be required to be sighted when becoming a client of Excel Tax and Accounting. This is to ensure you are who you say you are and will aid in reducing fraudulent activity from occurring.
Complaints and Dispute Resolution
In the event you have a complaint or dispute in relation to your engagement with us, please contact Kylie Aggio (Thatcher) immediately on 0403 968 670 or info@exceltax.com.au. We will endeavour to try and sort any issues in a timely fashion.
If the issues cannot be resolved, you can escalate the matter to the TPB. For details on how to make a complaint please go to https://www.tpb.gov.au/complaints.
Tax Practitioner Register
The TPB maintains a register of all registered suspended & deregistered tax practitioners. To check that we are registered please search the TPB Register at https://myprofile.tpb.gov.au/public-register/ using the following details:

Client Conduct
The TASA rules now require all Tax Agents to disengage clients that provide false and misleading information. This also includes where a client refuses to comply with Australian Taxation law. This has always been a high priority at Excel Tax and Accounting but it is important to note this is now a compulsory & legal requirement.
